The best time to visit this exotic African country is from Mid-May to Mid-October. Due to it being the Dark season it’s absolutely perfect for the famous gorilla trekking activity

The same as a good part of your travel across the region, there are no specific vaccines required other the those that cover the usual vaccinations such as  A yellow fever vaccine is essential,  bring your certificate with you, Hepatitis A and B, meningitis, polio, tetanus and typhoid vaccinations are also recommended alongside the rabies vaccination

Rwanda uses 240 volts with an AC of 50 HZ with a 2 pin round socket. If your device or devices is a 110-volt device, then you should bring along your own adaptor, just to stay safe. Even if there isn’t power most campuses and lodges that they can do for charging batteries.

This may sound a tad bit strange but Rwanda has three official languages, Kinyarwanda, the language talked by the entire country, French & English are the other two. From the other languages spoken is Swahili.

Amazingly Rwanda is among the top three countries when it comes to internet connectivity. There is also an evergrowing fibre optic network with a wireless highspeed broadband in major cities.

Most banks in Rwanda has a visa bank card that almost corresponds with the largest banks overseas. Well known Visa and Debit card names such as Mastercard are accepted in the largest establishment in Kagali, petrol stations & lodges.

It’s not like you will be needing a bag full of medicines but it’s better to be safe than sorry and go with teh recommended set of vaccinations before you visit Rwanda. Anti Malariapackets, your prescription medications and finally some travel insurance might help.

Due to the proximity of the country to the equator paired with the high altitude an extremely pleasant tropical weather can be expected. The rainy season occurs between March to May. June to mid-September is generally known as the best time to travel. The dry season runs from December to February.

The highlight of any trip to Rwanda is the Gorilla trekking is not the most suitable activity for the kids. Due to teh nature of the activity and the government activities only those above 15 years of age at the time of travel. As for solo travellers, it’s great for them too, as the trip allows them to have fun and blend with teh vibe of the trip.

The Local language is called Kampala and English is widely used two especially amongst those working i the tourism sector. With over 50 local dialects Luganda is the most common with Swahili as a close second.
