The weather in Uganda is tropical with teh altitude tempering the heat, this is due to the fact that most of the country is 1000m above the sea. The rainy seasons in Uganda range ar ethe months from March to May & the dry seasons are from December to February and mid-June to Mid August.

For most of the nationalities out there including but not exclusive to USA, UK, Canada, Australia & Island. A 90-day tourist visa can be acquired upon arriving at the airport for 50$. This requires you to also have a six-month valid visa from the date of ENtry. Thes policies may change so always check with the embassy before you travel. 

The official currency of Uganda is the Ugandan Shilling, its iso is UGX, the exchange rate is as follows:

In shops, prices are prefixed and mostly non-negotiable. In food restaurants & other craft, makers haggle no problem.

The same as a good part of your travel across the region, there are no specific vaccines required other the those that cover the usual vaccinations such as  A yellow fever vaccine is essential – bring your certificate with you

Hepatitis A and B, meningitis, polio, tetanus and typhoid vaccinations are also recommended alongside the rabies vaccination

Uganda uses 240 volts with an AC of 50 HZ square in Plug, so if you’re from Ireland or the UK  you will be fine, if not it’s advisable to bring an adaptor with you just in case. 

Hile in Uganda you can use the internet in different types of mediums, so if you have the roaming services on and you’re on the right network you can use roaming. You can also use it in the many internet cafes scattered around the main cities & you can always ask the hotel if you can use the Hotel office room. 

Visas are more widely used by hotels and stores in the city followed by MasterCard with the other card providing options not being used in Uganda. That is why it’s advisable to bear in mind that teh chances of you being to use your card outside Kampala are very slim & to inform your bank that you are abroad so it doesn’t get blocked

It’s not like you will be needing a bag full of medicines but its better to be safe than sorry. Anti Malariapackets, your prescription medications and finally some travel insurance might help.
