Bathe In The Dead Sea

If you plan to skip any activity in Jordan, don't even think about bathing or swimming in the dead sea. The stories and pictures you may have seen on the internet are just as real as they get. You will float in the dead sea! So, why not recreate the " reading in the water" pose, or try something new. The buoyancy of the water allows you to stay afloat and strike any pose that interests you. Yes, the salty water with health benefits is one of the things you may enjoy while on an adventurous trip to the beautiful Plains of Jordan. As you experience the sea, don't forget to apply its powder-smooth mud to your skin. The mud packs lots of benefits for the skin.  You can join thousands who have attested to rejuvenating powers of the Jordan mud. So, go for a swim and enjoy your time to the full!

Visit the Home of Mosaic

If you love arts, the Mosaic in Madaba should be the top three on your list of places to visit in Jordan. Madaba is synonymous with mosaics that are centuries old. Madaba is more of a museum of art than any other thing many may want to call it. The famous Madaba map is a floor mosaic of an early church. It contains a description of Lebanon, the dead sea, the desert of Moab, Jericho, and some other sites. The entire area of Madaba is also an archeological ground with a rich cultural heritage of the inhabitants of Jordan. A tour to Madaba is more than just sightseeing; it's a knowledge-filled experience for visitors of all ages.

Visit the Sacred Death Place of Moses on Mount Nebo

For Christians or lovers of history, Mount Nebo is significant as it tells the story of religion and faith. It brings to life the biblical accounts many have read on pages of the holy book. Although mount Nebo doesn't have much to offer, visitors relish the idea of walking on the same ground as did Moses shortly before his death. Some tourists target the Christmas period as the best time to celebrate with family and friends. If you happen to be in Jordan with friends or family during Christmas, you may want to make your visit to Mount Nebo a priority.  You'll join many from the world who have come with a similar goal.

Explore History in the Roman Ruins of Jerash

Did you know Jerash has an abundance of Roman history? While the stunning structures of Petra are a must-see, Jerash has loads of temples and theaters. The sanctuary of Zeus is one of the top places to see in Jerash. The sanctuary dates back to about 162 AD. If you care to climb, the unique view of the Oval plaza is a reward, but more than that is an area at the top where Zeus may have lived.
The Oval Plaza, the sound theater (300 sitting capacity), and the Cardo Maximus pavement are perks of visiting Jerash. A visit to Jerash is incomplete without seeing the Hadrian's Arch. You'll walk through the arch anyway, but don't just walk through and admire the gigantic size. Pay attention to the beautiful work of art within - the carvings because it's just breathtaking!  The cathedral complex of the early Christians, the ruins of the Church of St. George, St. John, and the artistically decorated Church of SS Cosmas & Damian are eye-catching and grand in every aspect.

Share a Meal With a Local Family

With tons of physical activities and adventures lined up, you still don't want to miss sharing a meal with the locals. In Jordan, hospitality is a way of life. The locals are accommodating and friendly. It's not uncommon to have tourists enjoy a warm welcome and invitation to eat a meal. Consider this an honor if you receive such an invitation. A typical meal time features an assortment of local foods and bonding time. You may pick up some Arabic phrases and greetings. Your vacation period would apparently be too short to start learning Arabic but you'll definitely pick up a few words and sentences since the locals are always eager to teach. Your guides are usually bilingual; hence you may want to have one around to communicate smoothly with a host.

Drive Through the Wadi Rum

The Wadi Rum desert has been one of Jordan's top tourist attractions since the 1960s. Thousands of visitors around the world tour this magnificent protected area. The Valley of the moon, as Wadi Rum is also known, offers a chance for visitors to trek the mountains( with a guide), drive through the desert in a jeep, engage in rock climbing, and ride the famous Arabian horses. The view is breathtaking during the day, and the same is true at night. Most visitors jump at the chance of sleeping in the outdoor camps to get a vivid view of the beautiful starry sky. Restaurants and small stores are available around the dessert to adequately cater to visitors' needs. Fine local meals, water, gifts items, and essential supplies are accessible at any store and restaurant. Hotels are also close by in abundance to serve visitors.

Travel Through the King’s Highway

If you're up for a road trip, the King’s Highway has one of the best views and restaurants. The road is decorated with ruins, historic sites, well-shaped rocks, and a calming brown landscape hue.

Explore the Diversity in Dana Reserve

Nature has a lot to offer, which is evident in the case of the Dana Reserve. As the largest reserve in the southern part of Jordan, it accommodates many people who come for different experiences. Hikers are common in the reserve as it has numerous rocks and boulders. People also come to explore many flora and fauna available in the reserve. The reserve is home to some endangered species of animals. It's also the place with the most diverse plants in the country. The Reserve has a hotel that accommodates visitors who come to the area.

Traditional Foods In Downtown Jordan

A trip to Jordan is incomplete without tasting the fantastic local meals in downtown Jordan. If culture amuses you, you don't want to miss the meals! Talk of the tasty Falafel balls, Zaki, and assorted fried vegetables, Jordan has more than enough to offer. Bedouin tea and coffee are popular among the local Bdoul, and the meaty, rice-made Maqluba, which dates back to the 13th century, makes the long list of meals to try in Jordan. Juice made of pomegranates, fresh olive, and the highly revered date is often expected and readily available in Jordan. And as much as local meals may be on your bucket list, you can get a regular pastry for a change, albeit with much more tasty and rich fillings. For example, a typical sharwama contains lamb meat, chicken, onions, sesame seeds, and an unending list of local recipes.

Spatter the Waters of Wadi Mujib

Wadi Mujib has incredible waterfalls that are warm and excellent for cayonning. It has water slides, apertures, and steeps that gush calming water in abundance. Tons of exhilarating activities await you! Life jackets are available to help visitors have an exciting yet safe time. You will get to climb, swim, record unforgettable moments. Good enough, Wadi Mujib is close to the dead sea, so if you're up for it, you can get to experience both locations on the same day and enjoy the best of both worlds. However, if you booked a lodge near the dead sea, you can schedule a visit to the Wadi Mujib during your stay in Jordan.

Visit Petra By Day Night!

If you saw the legendary Indiana Jones, a visit to Petra will make you see it again. The tall walls and caves of Petra are nothing short of beautiful. The ancient city of Petra is simply awe-inspiring and a must-visit place in Jordan. While the Petra is attractive by the day, the nighttime is magical -- the locals light over 1500 candles at night and perform traditional dances to entertain visitors. As you walk by the tiny hues of light, you can't help but imagine how breathtaking the view would be from an elevated position.

Also, the little Petra known as Siq al Barid should be on the list of places to visit after the main Petra. You'd want to get a tour guide to help you explore two millennium-old sites.
