Frequently Questions

The official language of Jordan is modern standard Arabic with the majority of the locals living in cities either being able to understand or speak English. Soke other languages are rarer to stumble on though such as Italian, Spanish, French & german among others as they are not commonly used languages by the Jordanians, but have no fear, speaking English will cover all your exploration needs as a visitor of this wonderful country.  

The official currency of Jordan is the Jordanian Dinar and its shortcode is JOD. As for the exchange rates, a SIngle US dollar is exchanged for 0.71 JOD, for the Canadian Dollar it’s 0.53, for the Euro, it’s 0.83 and finally for the Sterling Pound its 0.92 JOD.  

Yes, alongside a passport that is at least valid for 6 months from your date of arrival to the country, you will also need an entry Visa. If your gonna be able to get teh visa upon your arrival at the airport or you will need to get it in advance from the closest Jordanian Embassy or consulate will depend on where you’re coming from. For the nationalities that are able to get it upon arrival such as the United States, Canada, Australia & the UNited kingdom it costs from 0 to 40 JOD. For the other nationalities, the Visa needs to be Requested beforehand from the Jordanian embassy or consulate in your country.  

Upon arrival single entry visas are valid for a month, in advance, single-entry visas are usually valid for 2 months from the date of arrival. Double-entry Visas are valid for three months from the date of issuance and finally, Multiple Entry visas are valid for 6 months from the date of issuance.  

The best time to visit Jordan and get a chance to fully experience what it offers would be from March until the End of Ma, aka Spring TIme. This is due to teh countries pleasurable weather during this period 8 which will surely come in handy when visiting any open-air site in Jordan)  and it being Jordans high season. A good idea is to try to book your hotel rooms, tickets & other arrangements in advance.  

When it comes to health issues in Jordan, you have little to worry about as the issues you would run into, healthwise are the same as you would anywhere else. The Jordanian Government had taken several precautions soon after the COVID 19 epidemic outbreak, one of which was designate=ing specific hospitals to treat those infected with teh disease & several other precautions such as closing the borders & suspending schools. SO as long as you adhere to the WHO recommendations and take your Routine standard vaccinations you should be good to go.

The go-to option for the Locals of Oman would be using the Bus which are more like many coaches located in teh main cities. All the other alternatives such as private transport or Local flights are great too but as the saying goes when in Rome, do as the Romans do”.  

When packing for your trip to Jordan a combination of Comftrabel, conservative & Breathy attire is what you would like to go Fore. To put this in practical terms for the ladies, jeans, pants, shorts, a T-shirt, sunglasses and a sunhat, a scarf & some modest dresses would be great. For the men, a basic attire of SHort, jeans, pants and T-Shirts would be fine. Some other items would be hiking boots, sunglasses, canteens & sunscreen among others will be a great addition. All these attire recommendations are so that you can enjoy your time with the minimum amount of hassle possible while giving you enough freedom, protection and flexibility to explore Jordan and its amazing sites.
