Construction

Top-rated architects designed the building, with a notable one as the exterior architect. The hotel's design incorporates Islamic architectural aspects such as balance, geometry, proportion, rhythm, and hierarchical focus, as well as modern design and construction techniques. The center dome has intricate mathematical designs, and there are 114 lesser domes around the edifice. The building's color was influenced by many hues of sand seen in the Arabian Desert. BESIX, a Belgian corporation, began construction in December 2001. Depa Interiors, Abu Dhabi, completed the interior fit-out work, and the hotel opened in February 2005.

Style

While the extravagant interiors of gold and marble may not be to everyone's taste, the hotel's grandeur, as well as its sheer scale, is undeniably striking. Its latest makeover under the Mandarin Oriental name has resulted in a more contemporary appearance, blending the hotel's trademark luxury with a more subdued tone. The addition of six vegan rooms with faux-leather furnishings and plant milk in the minibars was a major adjustment.

Restaurants and Cuisine 

The hotel has a variety of restaurants, but Talea by Antonio Guida should be at the top of your list. Chef Luigi Stinga's original, beautifully performed cucina di famiglia (family-style food) has earned it its first Michelin star. Try the ricotta, lemon, and mint ravioli or the cacio e pepe with lobster tartare, but leave room for the tiramisu, which is prepared by a chef at your table. 

Beyond Italian cuisine, visitors may experience Middle Eastern cuisine at the Lebanese Terrace, Chinese cuisine at Hakkasan, and Indian fine dining at Martabaan by Hemant Oberoi. There is also a Spanish-inspired restaurant beside one of the pools, as well as other all-day cafés offering healthy selections. Breakfast is served as a buffet, with items such as eggs Benedict made to order. Order the Palace cappuccino, which comes with a hefty sprinkle of gold, to brighten up your day. 

Service and Facilities

There are several amenities available, including two temperature-controlled swimming pools, a kids' club, and a private marina. Guests may enjoy a variety of free water activities at the hotel's beach club, including kayaking and paddleboarding. Sign up to windsurf, wakeboard, flyboard, or e-foil at the Water Sports Centre. The beach volleyball court is located near the west pool. Weekly horseback riding lessons are also available on the hotel's almost mile-long beach. The Hideaway Spa has 16,000 square feet in size. 

The service given by a massive workforce is outstanding, and there's also the Emirates Palace Club, which allows members and suite visitors to experience even more luxury.
