Its high time we hit the South of India for an adventure that will take you through the backwaters of Kerela and deeper into the heart of the south. Then dive into an explosion of aromatic smells of various spices in the spice plantations of Thekkady around the Streets of Madurai, aka the Lotus City. So join us as you uncover the secrets of India that are known only to those who can truly call it home.
Once you've landed at the airport our representative will meet and assist you. Then you will be transferred to your hotel in Kochi.
Our first stop for the day will be the Jewish Synagogue which is closed on Fridays & Sundays, followed by the Mattancherry palace, built by the Portuguese back in 1555 and then gifted to the Raja of Cochin as a sign of goodwill.
While visiting the church otherwise known as the Dutch church you'll get a chance to marvel at the wide Chinese styled fish nets exclusive to the region.
Once you've had a chance to enjoy your breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and be driven down to Alleppey onboard the famous Houseboat through the even more famous backwaters of Kerala, spending the night on board the exquisite houseboat.
You will disembark the houseboat and proceed to Thekkady. Once you've arrived at Thekkady you will be transferred to your hotel for a later trip to Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary, one of the sixteen tiger reserves in India.
You will navigate the sanctuary by boat, which will allow you to really experience the wilderness. You will be able to watch the elephants in there natural habitat while enjoying absolute comfort and safety.
Today we will be visiting the spice plantations of Thekkady. While going through the plantation, your guide will explain how the different spices are used in Indian cuisine.
You will be taken to Madurai, the lotus-shaped city making it a sought out destination by may pilgrims.
Once you've arrived you will be checking in at your hotel.
For the evening we will be visiting the Meenakshi temple to witness the evening prayer ceremony.
We will be visiting the beautiful Meenakshi Temple with its enormous domes covered with a gaily coloured statue as the domes dominate the landscape, visible from all over Madurai. The temple has 4 entrances, 12 towers and a 100 pillar corridor.
The day ends with a paddle rickshaw ride through the Bylanes temple.
Once you've had your breakfast we will take a drive to Tanjore, where upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel for check-In.
Then you will visit the Brihadeshwara temple, built by the great Chola King in the 1oth century. The temple is a great example of architecture done right and is listed as a world heritage site by the UNESCO.

Once you've arrived you will be transported to the hotel for check-In.
We will visit the Siri Brihadeshwara Temple, built by Chola King.
Next you will be taken to Mahabalipuram, a tiny seaside village set in a boulder-strewn backdrop. .
Visit to the Fice Rathas aka ceremonial chariots of the Five Pandavi heroes of the Mahabharata saga and Draupadi, their wife.
Then we will proceed to the seaside temple, where you will be surrounded by gardens designed to match the original ancient layout.
The next visit for the day will be the Bhagirathas Peance, sculptured on the faces of the huge opposite rocks.
