Sri Lanka Tea Trails Tour
It's not every day that you get to explore all a country has to over without compromising or diluting any single experience throughout the trip. With our 11 day adventure into all that is Sri Lanka, you will not only get to explore teh city, beaches, parks & landmark monuments such as the Tangalle Koutugoda, Koggala & Kalugala Monastery, but you will feel that there wasn't a moment lost in vain.
Itinerary at a Glance
Colombo Tour
Once you've landed at Colombo International Airport and met up with our representative, you will be taken to your hotel for early check-in before we head to Pettahs floating markets & Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple later in the day.
Optional activity for those who want to do more on their first day will be enjoying a sun downer as Galle Face seaside Bar, which nothing can prepare you for its picturesque view of the ocean as it is without a doubt one of the most beautiful settings in the world for an evening drink.
Sigiriya
Once you're done with your morning meal, you will be checking out of your hotel and take a stab at Canal Sailing and a trip to Negombo's main attractions, the Dutch Canal & Dutch Fort.
Upon arrival, we will check into the Water Garden Sigiriya in preparation for a visit to the Angurukaamulla Temple, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya Rock Fortress later in the day.
Sigiriya
Once you're done with your breakfast meal we will head to our first stop of the day, the Elephant Orphanage in the capital of Polonnaruwa.
Our other programmed visits for the day will be to Anuradhapura, an UNESCO world heritage site.
Some other optional activities include a cookery class in Siri Lanka traditional rice & curry meal, A Hot air balloon ride over Sigiriya Fort & finally the breathtaking view of the Sunset from Pidurangula following a 20-minute hike up to the summit, passing several temples and a 12.5 reclining Budah.
Kandy Arrival
Kandy Tour
Today once you're done with your breakfast, we will continue our touring as you visit the best stops of Bhutan, some of which are Temple of the Sacred Tooth, The Botanical Garden, Commonwealth War Cemetery & many others.
Optional activities: Kandy Temple Prayer Ceremony with a Buddhist Priest and White River rafting in the Kelaniya Ganga.
Ceylon Valley
Once done with your breakfast we will commence our drive to Hatton and your luxurious retreat in Sir Lankas Verdant Hill, a restored Bungalow in the heart of Sri Lanka's lush tea country.
Take some time to rest before we take a scenic trip via train to the Golden Valley of Tea.
Once you've arrived at your accommodations you will have the chance to explore the science, technique and history behind some of the best tea worldwide.
Ceylon Valley, Day at leisure
As soon as your done with your breakfast the day is yours to spend as you see fit.
Just in case you might think of going out oh the hotel today, enjoy picking and harvesting tea leaves straight from the field and the scenic view.
Koggala, Day at leisure
Today will be about the trip from Ceylon Valley to Koggala via seaplane.
Upon arrival, you will be checked in to your hotel & enjoy a free day of leisure.
Koggala Tour
Early breakfast meal followed by a drive towards Galle, where upon arrival you will be checked into your hotel & have a chance to go sightseeing and experience the best it has to offer such as the Galle Fort. Tea Trial, Gall Lighthouse & numerous Temples.
Koggala, Day at leisure
Today is a totally free day where you will take full command and determine how to make the best of the day. Here are some available optional activities to inspire you:
- Whale Watching: Get a chance to witness the most majestic and biggest inhabitants of the Sea, whales and one of the seas most adorable inhabitant, bottle-nosed & Spinner Dolphins. Another activity of a similar nature would be a two hour Boat trip on Koggala lake including visits to Alathuduwa Temple Island, & a Spice Garden visit along the way. While on teh way back, you will get to meet a couple who not only plant but harvest cinnamon as the boat crosses the lake to dock and you then take a tuk-tuk back to the hotel
- Udawalawe National Park: The great thing about the park is that although it was established back in 1972 and covers almost 129 square miles in terms of Ground, the park is home to a herd of 250 elephants, including many other mammals and birds.
- Bike Ride: Let's have some exercise, shall we? seize the opportunity to stay active, soak in some fresh air as you experience Sri Lanka in all its glam and Beauty with the ride concluding at Wijaya for a swim and a cocktail if your feeling like it.
- Cookery Class: Any foodies or aspiring chefs there? great, then this will be perfect for you. Learn more about the famous Rice and curry combination of Sri Lanka as you attend a cookery class as you get instructed in recipe handed down from generation to the next under the guidance of our Cooks and prepare an irresistible meal.
Final Departure
Have your breakfast and checkout from you hotel. You will be transferred to Colombia airport for taking the flight back home.
