Itinerary at a Glance
Day 1: Arrival
Upon your arrival at Tunis airport, you will be welcome by our driver.
Transfer to the hotel followed by, dinner and overnight in Tunis.
Day 2: Thuburbo Majus | Dougga | Kairouan
Breakfast and departure to visit thuburbo Majus, one of the best-preserved sites in Tunisia. It was occupied by the Berbers, Phoenicians, and the Romans, afterwards converted into one of many Roman garrisons in North Africa.
Continuation to Teboursouk and lunch.
Visit to the archaeological site of Dougga (ancient Thugga): covering some 60 acres and laid out on a steep slope some 2,000 feet above the plain, Dougga was known as the “city of temples.” Visit to Dougga’s theater, which today is used for its Drama festival and accommodates almost 3,500 people. Visit to the Temple of Saturn, which was found evidence of a pre-Roman sanctuary dedicated to the Carthaginian god Gal; and the Temples of Augustan Piety and Mercury.
Continuation to Kairouan followed by check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Kairouan | Sbeitla | Tozeur
After breakfast, we will explore Kairouan. The city which rises like a dream of tawny beige, bearing in its serenity 13 centuries of Islamic culture. Behold the wondrous beauty of its mosques, the symphony of its columns and arches and the exquisite delicacy of the stone work. Visit to the Great Mosque of Uqba Bin Nafi, an important Islamic landmark and architecture which was built in the 9th century. Next, visit Sidi Sahbi Mausoleum, which houses the tomb of one of Prophet Mohammed's companions known as the Barbe and the Aghlabids pools.
We will proceed to Sbeitla. Lunch at a restaurant and then visit the Roman ruins of Sbeitla, one of the few ancient Roman cities that is famous not only for its strategic role but also its politics and economy have played a major role during antiquity.
Departure for Tozeur, one of the famous oasis in the world, surrounded by 200 springs. It is sheltered by a palm grove of more than 1000 ha – about 400.000 palm trees and world-renowned dates, also known as deglet nour, which means “fingers of light”.
Check-in at the hotel followed by dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Tozeur | Chebika | Tamerza | Mides | Ong Jmel
After breakfast, proceed in 4X4 to visit the Mountain oasis of Chebika/Tamerza/Midès. In Chebika the refreshing water rushes over an imposing waterfall to form a wadi surrounded by palm trees at the bottom of a gorge. Tamerza looks barricaded by its mountain range, as if suspended on the side of a vast canyon with commanding views over the vast plains as far as the Chott and the sand hills. Finally, there is Midès, the most impressive of these oases; which overlooks a breathtakingly high canyon.
Continuation to Ong Jmel and visit to the Star Wars movie filming place.
Return to Tozeur and lunch.
In the afternoon, visit the Medina of Tozeur and Dar Cherait museum.
Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Tozeur | Douz | Matmata | Djerba
After breakfast, checkout and we will proceed to Douz, the gateway to the Sahara crossing the dry salt lake of Chott El Jerid. Enjoy 1h camel riding on the dunes.
Continuation to Matmata and explore its famous troglodytes, underground houses built to protect the Berbers from the intense heat in the summer.
Lunch at a troglodyte restaurant followed by a visit to the Berber Museum in Tamezret to discover its amazing history.
Departure to Djerba followed by check-in at the hotel and overnight.
Day 6: Djerba | Island Tour | Sfax
Breakfast at the hotel, afterwards we will have a half day expedition to an Island tour by visiting its southwest You will see Guellala, the village of potters. All of the local people of this village are engaged in this ancestral craft and you can see vases, jugs, pitchers displayed along the main street.
At the southern area of Houmt Souk, you can find Ghriba, a Jewish temple built in the 6th century BC. This is the second top place of Judaism in the world and you can see so many Jews gathered in the month of May.
Lunch at a restaurant and departure to Sfax via ferry.
Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Sfax | El Jem | Monastir | Sousse | Hammamet
After breakfast, departure to El Jem. Be enthralled by one of the world’s largest and most spectacular Roman Amphitheatre. Built in 238 AD, itr can hold up to 35,000 spectators. This monument illustrates the grandeur and extent of the Roman Empire.
Continuation to Monastir, visit of the Ribath (from outside) and the mausoleum Habib Bourguiba.
Departure to Sousse, the 3rd-largest city in Tunisia. Visit the Medina of Sousse, another UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Tunisia.
Lunch at a restaurant.
Explore the ramparts, walls that enclose certain parts of the city and the 13th-century Ribath, an ancient rest stop for travelers. Visit of the Marina of Port El Kantaoui.
Departure to Hammamet and visit of the Fortress and the Medina. Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight in Hammamet.
Day 8: Hammamet | Carthage | Sidi Bou Said | Bardo Museum | Tunis
After breakfast, checkout and departure to visit Carthage, an UNESCO World Heritage Site and the oldest Phoenician settlement on the coast of North Africa. Continue to Byrsa Hill to view the main ruins of the Punic City and some of its glorious monuments like the Thermes d’Antonin, Tophet at Salambo and Punic ports.
Visit Sidi Bou Said: stroll through the narrow streets of Sidi Bou Said, a picturesque small town bordered by whitewashed houses with blue shutters and doors.
Lunch at a local restaurant followed by a visit to Bardo Museum, one of the best archaeological museums in the Mediterranean, which is especially well-known for its beautiful collection of mosaics. Visit the Medina of Tunis and its souks, which are colorful local markets. Discover the exquisite craftsmanship of Tunisia’s artisans at the souks and experience the rich traditions and cultural heritage of Tunisia in its libraries and bookstores.

Day 9: Final Departure
After breakfast, checkout and transfer to Tunis airport for final departure.
