India is a beautiful country, the second-most populous country in the world, it is filled with multicultural cities, different religions, festivals, delicious cuisines, and marvelous historic sites. This country is located in South Asia and has a rich and diverse history with Hinduism and Islam playing a huge part in shaping its modern history, blessed with a beautiful and megadiverse ecosystem, India is a paradise for all lovers of beauty, art, history, and nature. A tropical country, India has a typical winter, summer and monsoon seasons, with winter lasting from December to February, summer from March to May and monsoon from June to September.  This article aims to explore beautiful attractions in this country and we would start from arguably one of the best places to visit in India and the most iconic monument in the world.

 

the Taj Mahal:

 

This eternal masterpiece to love and romance was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favorite wife. One of the seven wonders of the new world, this marble masterpiece is built within a beautiful complex that has within it a mosque, guest house, and a beautiful garden and pool. This iconic monument is an eternal monument to art, beauty, and architecture and is forever a heritage of Islamic and Mughal architecture and I assure you a visit would surely take your breath away.  

 

 

The Red Fort: 

 

Another beautiful tourist attraction would be the red fort. Found in the city of Delhi, this beautiful attraction served as the main residence of the Mughal emperors and was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan when he decided to move his capital from Agra to Delhi. A UNESCO heritage site, this beautiful fort has many structures including a Lahori Gate, the Delhi gate, Khizrabad gate, palaces, floors, arenas, and quarters for princes, consorts and it has within it many beautiful floral and marble ornamentations. In modern times it serves as a major tourist attraction and a symbol of India's modern-day nationalism. Every independence day the prime minister hoists India’s tri-coloured flag on its main fort and also delivers a nationally broadcast speech from its ramparts.  

 

Agra Fort:

 

Another wonderful sight for all lovers of beauty is the Agra Fort, the original residence of the Mughal emperors, this beautiful masterpiece is a UNESCO heritage site, found about 2.5km from the more iconic TAJ MAHAL, this beautiful fort is best described as a walled city and has within it historic monuments such as the shish Mahal, the spot where Jahangir’s chain of justice was located, Shahjahan Mahal and so much more. This fort is one of the iconic attractions in the city of Agra.  

 

Varanasi City:

 

Moving on to another beautiful city that draws millions of tourists yearly, the holy city of Varanasi. An important landmark in the practice of Hinduism, this beautiful city is one of the oldest places to visit in India continuously inhabited cities in the world and serves as the spiritual capital of India. Apart from being one of the seven sacred cities in Hinduism and being an important landmark of Buddhism, this ancient city is filled with numerous attractions for lovers of history and religion. Famous for its ghats which are filled all-year-round by people who want to perform ablution in the holy river Ganges. This beautiful city has within its tours, trips, and religious rites that would always inspire awe and reverence in all visitors.  

 

The Golden Temple:

 

We move on to one of the pre-eminent sites of Sikhism and a beautiful marvel of architecture, the golden temple. Found in the city of Amritsar. This beautiful spiritual site embodies all Sikhism stands for, beauty, reverence, and love of one another. This beautiful shrine is a marvel of architecture and a wonderful site for all lovers of religion and beauty.

 

Goa City:

 

Last but not least would be the beautiful southern city of goa. Blessed with pristine beaches and pearly waters, its beaches offer a respite from the hustle and bustle of the Indian Mainland, coupled with its raving nightlife, beach parties, and stunning delicacies you are sure in for a wonderful time.

 

There are also less trodden beaches that would offer solace and enjoyment for all lovers of hiking, quiet and fun.  This article aims to show you why you should visit this beautiful country and I assure you India is filled with so many more attractions and a trip to this country would be the best decision you could make.

 

The Makkah Masjid: 

 

The Makkah masjid is one of the famous religious places to visit in India which is found in the ancient city of Hyderabad is one of the largest mosques in India with a capacity of 20000, this historic mosque is a state-protected monument. This mosque was built during the reign of Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah. He commissioned bricks made from soil brought from the holy city of mecca and used it to build the central arch of the mosque, giving it its uniqueness. Found in the entrance to this mosque is a striking and beautiful canopied building that houses the marble graves of the Asaf Jahi dynasty.

 

Amber Palace: 

 

Moving on to another beautiful tourist attraction, we would talk on the popular Amber palace, found in the exotic Rajasthan region, this beautiful tourist attraction is found in the town of Amer and was built by the Meenas. Renowned for its beautiful and artistic style, this UNESCO heritage site, is made up of red sandstone and marble, made up of four levels, this beautiful masterpiece also has a cool climate artificially created by winds that blow over a water cascade within the palace. This apace is made up of amazing structures and other forts also found close to this palace is the amazing Jaigarh palace. Moving on to another beautiful tourist attraction, the Hawa mahal.

 

Found in the beautiful city of Jaipur, this wonderful monument sits on the edge of the city palace of Jaipur and was built in 1799 by the Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, who was the grandson of the founder of Jaipur, inspired by the Khetri Mahal, this unique masterpiece has lattice designs similar to a honeycomb which was built to allow royal ladies view happenings and festivals on the street without being seen. It was also built in red and pink coloured sandstone in keeping with the decorations of other monuments within the pink city. This elegant masterpiece would surely inspire awe and wonder in anyone lucky enough to explore it.  

 

 

Rajasthan City: 

 

Rajasthan is a striking region that offers insight into the beauty of the way of life of ancient Indians, a place filled with marvellous attractions that would always catch your fancy. One of these attractions is the Mehrangarh Fort, a designated heritage site as one of the hill forts of Rajasthan. This beautiful fort has a storied history having to be the site of many battles and victories. One of the largest forts in India, this fort has a well-stocked museum filled with many antiquities. Tourist attractions in this fort include Mataji temple, the Rao Jodha desert park, and so much more.
