Peru: Returning on the Steps of the Incas

Upon your arrival at the airport, the tour representative will meet and assist you during the arrival procedures. Then you will be transferred to your hotel. 

Enjoy the rest of the day as you would like, to rest from the trip or to explore the city of Cuzco. 

Enjoy a Cuzco City Tour. You will visit the Convent of Santo Domingo (built on the Inca temple of Coricancha), followed by the Cathedral.

Next, let’s go to the hills, where you will explore the fortress of Sacsayhuamán and enjoy the panoramic view of the city. 

Last but not least, visit to Qenqo, an Incan religious archaeological site, and finally visit to Puka Pukara, in Quechua, an old Incan fort for military use.
 

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast we will start our journey to Ollantaytambo but we will pass by the Sacred Valley to visit the Palace of Tissues known as Awanakancha. It works as an exhibition centre where visitors can learn about Peruvian garments and buy the Peruvian products.

We will continue to the Pisac market, where the local communities sell a variety of handcrafted products.

Stop for lunch before we arrive in Ollantaytambo, where you will visit its fortress.

After breakfast, we will head towards Machu Picchu, first by train to Aguas Calientes. Enjoy the beautiful Andean landscapes. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes we will take a tour bus to our final destination. 

Once in Machu Picchu, your tour guide will explain the history and origin of the place, and will visit some main monuments: the main square, the royal quarters, the three-window temple, the circular towers, the sacred clock and the cemeteries. 

Time to return to Aguas Calientes and you can enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. 

Note: Due to luggage restrictions on board trains to and from Machu Picchu, passengers are granted only one (1) small package of maximum 5 kg (11 lbs).

Enjoy more visits in Machu Picchu in the morning. Explore the parts of the complex you could not on the previous day, so take this extra opportunity to visit places such as the Intipunku (Puerta del Sol) and the Inca Bridge, for example. 

By mid-afternoon we will take the train back to Cuzco. Upon arrival, you will be taken to your hotel. 

Enjoy the day at leisure in Cuzco to discover the city on your own pace. 

Let’s take the train to Puno. Enjoy the beautiful landscape composed by mountains and several villages on the way. 

We will stop in Pucará for a break. This is an archeological site that dates back to 300 AD. We will also stop by Wiracocha, so you can visit the Raqchi Temple. 

The last stop will be in the town of Andahuaylillas to visit the 'Sistine Chapel of America'.

Arrival in Puno and transfer to your hotel. 

Meals: Breakfast and lunch

Visit to the Uros Islands, a group of man-made totora islands that on the surface of Lake Titicaca. 

Next, let’s head to another island called Taquile. 

Return to Puno.

You will leave the hotel early in the morning and embark on a 3h and a half trip to Copacabana, Bolivia.

After lunch, we will sail on the Titicaca Lake towards the Sun Island, where upon arrival, we will walk the "Yumani" staircase and reach the Fountain of Youth. Lastly, we will visit "Píldora Cocaina", an Incan palace where ceremonies were held for the God Sun.

We will return to Copacabana and arrive there by end afternoon to take a bus back to Puno. 

Note: You can choose other points of interest near Puno instead of this itinerary, such as the funeral complex of Sillustani or Aramu Muru. Talk to your tour agent if you would like to make adjustments. 

After breakfast, we will escort you to Juliaca, 40 km from Puno. From there you will take the flight to Lima. 

Upon arrival in Lima, you will be transferred to your hotel. 

Enjoy a tour in Lima, Peru’s capital. You will visit some important places such as the Paseo de la Republica, Plaza San Martín and the Plaza Mayor.

Next, visit to the Convent of San Francisco and to the nice neighborhoods of San Isidro and Miraflores.

Enjoy the day at leisure in Lima. You can opt for an excursion to visit the Nazca Lines.

At the agreed time, we will take you to the airport to catch your flight back home.
